RESERVOIR ROAD (E 53RD STREET) RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT PROJECT P-PH 1610(17) PCN 6292 (Reservoir Road) PROJECT P 1612(1) PCN 01XF (Longview Road) On March 15, 2010, Site Work Specialists resumed work on the Reservoir Road and Longview Road Reconstruction project. It is anticipated that work along Longview Road and Reservoir Road between Longview Road and SD Highway 44 will be complete by May 2010. The reconstruction of Reservoir Road from Longview north to the intersection with Twilight Drive will be complete by November 2010. The asphalt surfacing throughout the project has been removed and a gravel driving surface will be maintained until the final asphalt concrete surface is placed. Only northbound traffic will be maintained on Reservoir Road between Longview Road and Twilight Drive for the duration of the project. Southbound traffic is detoured via Twilight Drive and Covington Street. A construction traffic control map can be viewed on the Pennington County webpage to help illustrate access in the area during construction. Construction progress meetings for the project are held every Wednesday at 8:30 AM at the Rapid Valley Sanitary District Office located at 4611 Teak Drive. The meeting is open to the public for comment from 8:30 to 9:00 AM. Site Work Specialists, Inc. is the Prime Contractor on the $3.7 million roadway reconstruction project of Reservoir Road from SD Highway 44 north to Twilight Drive, and Longview Road from SD Highway 44 east to Colvin Street in Pennington County. Work under the $3.7 million contract includes widening these roadways to 3 lanes of asphalt surfacing and installing storm sewer drainage features. A separate contract with Rapid Valley Sanitary District also adds new water and sewer lines under the new roadway.
