SOUTH DAKOTA FACTS:


The 1918 Spanish flu was a global disaster and affected a high percentage of the population, hence the term “pandemic.” Reports indicated that about a fifth of the world’s population contracted the Spanish flu over a two year period. Pennington County lost 60 people in this epidemic.
