Positions available are for three year appointments. The Board is specialized in that it is an administrative decision-making Board. Each candidate is requested to provide the following: 1. Identify and explain any past employment or other participation in the mental health care field. 2. Explain interest in appointment to this position and confirm that he/she is a Pennington County resident. 3. Describe any prior experience, either personal or professional, which he/she believes will assist in the role as a member of the board. In particular, any past experience in participating in administrative decisions or sitting on a decision-making board. 4. Confirm that he/she can make themselves available for the hearings as they are presently scheduled. Hearings are scheduled Monday through Friday commencing at 9:00 a.m., so applicants should identify at least one day each week when he/she would attend hearings as needed. If applicants are able to attend hearings two or three times a week on a regular basis, that should be explained as well. 5. Agree that because the Board proceedings are closed, and if appointed members of the board are prohibited from discussing Board decisions with any non-board member. 6. Acknowledge that any compensation received would be established by the Board of County Commissioners, and payment practices will be subject to the policies of Board and the County Auditor.
